Legislative Services Office

IT Software Developer

The Legislative Services Office is seeking a motivated IT Software Developer to join our Budget Policy and Analysis team. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent Computer Science graduate or a professional returning to the workforce, looking to gain hands-on experience in state government technology systems.

Position Description:You will contribute to the development and maintenance of custom software systems, including .NET/Oracle desktop application and supporting web applications using modern frameworks. Collaborate with the team to design solutions that integrate with legacy and current systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test and document application code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues
  • Refactor legacy code to meet modern standards
  • Collaborate with the team on software architecture and planning

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in Object-Oriented programming
  • Experience with WPF and C# in Visual Studio
  • Experience in SQL
  • Knowledge MVVM pattern and Entity Framework
  • Version control experience using GitLab

Desirable Experience

  • Web development with WordPress, PHP, and advanced JavaScript
  • Experience with RDL paginated reports
  • Experience working with VBA
  • Experience with Oracle Database PL/SQL
