The Idaho Department of Labor has an exciting opportunity for two full-time Technical Records Specialist 2.  These positions will provide support for the Benefit Technical Services unit in the UI Benefits bureau.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Access customer information utilizing IDOL proprietary systems to analyze, troubleshoot and refer customers appropriately.
  • Utilize office equipment to print, scan and copy documents utilized in the unemployment insurance process for distribution electronically and by USPS mail.
  • Process incoming mail for the Benefits bureau.
  • Maintain a high level of customer confidentiality.
  • Protect customers PII (personally identifying information) from unnecessary exposure.
  • Enters and retrieves data using a computerized record system.
  • Monitors faxes from the Claims Specialists and Adjudication Fax. Processes or distributes as appropriate.
  • Monitors processes SIDES responses.
  • Utilize considerable independence and exercise discretion in determining the correct location for benefit documents.
  • Process incoming record's requests for the department.
  • Use a variety of automated systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat PDF's and internet applications
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.  Experience:

  • Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors. Typically met by at least one year of work experience monitoring records systems and to identify and correct errors.
  • Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs.  Typically met by one year of experience applying a variety of difficult rules, regulations and policies to determine compliance or eligibility. Decisions are complex and can affect the social or economic wellbeing of others.
  • Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues. Typically met by at least one year of experience performing extensive research and analysis of highly complex or technical material requiring in-depth program knowledge in order to determine if requirements were met and if they complied with established laws and/or policies. Research must have included contacting a variety of sources both inside and outside the organization to collect, obtain and verify information and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations. Typically gained by at least one year of work experience dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in stressful situations which dealt with personal, sensitive, or confidential information such as eligibility requirements health issues, or financial matters.
  • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system.  Typically gained by at least six months of work experience where you were required to enter and retrieve data in a database records system or other computer records systems.
  • Composing and proofreading business correspondence.  Typically gained by one year of office experience, which required composing and proofreading a variety of business documents on a regular basis.
