Summary:

The Idaho Department of Correction currently has an opening for a Storekeeper at the South Boise Central Receiving complex in Kuna Idaho

Responsibilities:

  1. Select supply resources and make emergency purchases within purchasing authority
  2. Obtain specific product or equipment requirements from users
  3. Receive supplies from local vendors
  4. Purchase supplies to replenish or update inventory
  5. Issue supplies and fill facility pick tickets
  6. Enter and retrieve inventory and purchasing data electronically
  7. Maintain accurate inventory records
  8. Determine proper floor and shelf location for supplies
  9. Ensure hazardous materials are stored safely
  10. Perform physical inventory of warehouse and storage facilities and reconcile records
  11. Receive and unload freight, verify quantity and quality of orders
  12. Delivers supplies to work areas
  13. Review, Process and Document Purchase Orders for facilities
  14. Provide Customer Service to Central Office and facilities
  15. Resolves vendor-user conflicts including damaged product, credits, and contract non-compliance issues
  16. Driving a 30-foot box truck in tight areas at various locations

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience storing, issuing, shipping and receiving materials and supplies. This is typically gained by at least 6 months of work experience in a retail or receiving environment that included responsibility for storing, issuing, and receiving materials and supplies as well as performing inventory control of material and equipment such as office supplies, furniture, and computers.
  2. Experience applying purchasing procedures. This is typically gained by work experience with responsibility for obtaining informal bids or quotes through telephone contacts, supply catalogs, or sales representatives on an occasional basis.
  3. Experience applying inventory control methods. This is typically gained by at least 6 months’ experience as described.
  4. Experience operating material handling equipment. This is typically gained by at least 6 months’ experience as described.
  5. Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. This is typically gained by 6 months of experience accessing, entering, correcting or changing information on a computer.
  6. Some knowledge of safety and procedures for handling hazardous materials.
