Deputy Attorney General, Office of the Attorney General, Energy and Natural Resources Division

Salary: Salary Depends on Experience (DOE), starting at $90,000 

Location: Boise, Idaho. As Idaho’s capital, Boise is a growing city of approximately 226,570 and offers a rich variety of both cultural and recreational opportunities. Idaho’s world-famous fly-fishing, skiing, kayaking and hiking are all within easy access. 

Primary Duties:  The Central Office of the Energy and Natural Resources Division is looking for an attorney to provide representation and counsel to the State of Idaho and its natural resource agencies, including, but not limited to, the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, the Idaho Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and the State Board of Land Commissioners. Practice areas can include public lands, endangered species, NEPA, adjudication of state, federal and tribal water rights, and advising natural resource agencies on contracting, rulemaking, and other administrative matters. Appearances before administrative bodies, state and federal district courts and courts of appeals, including the Idaho Supreme Court, will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:  Admission to the Idaho State Bar and at least three years of relevant legal and technical work experience is preferred. Strong academic qualifications are required.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have strong legal research and writing skills and be able to perform a variety of litigation and transactional work independently.
