Nestled in the heart of the Camas Prairie at an elevation of 3,900 feet, Winchester Lake State Park offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Just 38 miles south of Lewiston, the park features a scenic lake ideal for fishing, canoeing, paddle boarding, and wildlife viewing. Visitors enjoy a wide range of activities year-round, from summer camping and hiking to winter snowshoeing and Nordic skiing. With a variety of accommodations, including RV and tent campsites and cozy yurts, the park provides an inviting escape in every season.
As a Ranger, you’ll be involved in every aspect of park operations. You’ll assist visitors, maintain facilities, patrol to protect natural resources, educate the public on park rules and safety, and support recreational programs such as Junior Ranger activities and evening educational events. You’ll also help with resource protection, trail and campsite upkeep, boating safety at the ADA-accessible ramp and docks, maintenance and upkeep of buildings and amenities, and providing excellent customer service at the visitor center. This is a generalist role that provides a little bit of everything, perfect for someone who enjoys diverse, hands-on work in a stunning natural setting.
