The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a Veterinarian Medical Officer, Senior in the Animal Industries Division. The position location is preferred to be in the Boise area but will consider other locations in Southern Idaho (Burley) and Eastern (Idaho Falls), depending on the successful candidate.

The Veterinarian Medical Officer, Senior serves as the state expert and program coordinator in a specialized area of veterinary medicine. Incumbent is responsible for the evaluation and improvement of programs and operational activities designed to prevent or eliminate threats to Idaho agriculture from emerging or newly introduced diseases of domestic or wildlife animals. At this level, the incumbent will use principles, concepts, scientific methodology and techniques in the field of veterinary medicine to apply theories and proposals to problems and issues which are not susceptible to resolution by established methods.
