Idaho Transportation Department is hiring a Storekeeper position located in Boise, Idaho.

This position will be part of the Business Support Management Building Services team working in the mailroom managing mail and package receipt and delivery, office equipment surplus, and shipping and receiving small packages. Organizational and time management skills are a requirement to be successful in this position.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • May involve inclement weather working conditions
  • Requires valid driver's license
  • Familiarity with automated inventory data systems, especially AMS Financials, is a plus
  • Provide outstanding customer service to a variety of internal customers
  • Receive, sort, and deliver mail, office supplies and equipment, and packages (some installation work may be considered)
  • Prepare shipments and make shipping arrangements for items ordered for Headquarters
  • Record some minor inventory items and prepare merchandise for delivery and follow through to necessary destination
  • Key information into computer to create purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, as well as track and issue stock to maintain accurate inventory
  • Assign charges to the appropriate project/work center for supplies and materials
  • Operate forklift to load/unload freight 
  • Drive vehicle to pick up and/or deliver items
  • Record disposal items to track for later donation or sale
  • Write reports for lost, stolen, or missing property
  • Verify physical locations, value, and condition of property

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Storing, issuing, shipping, and receiving materials and supplies
  • Applying purchasing procedures
  • Applying inventory control methods 
  • Operating material handling equipment
  • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system
  • Some knowledge of safety procedures for handling hazardous materials.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION
  • Must be able to work independently of daily supervision.
