Position:
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hiring a Building Facilities Specialist for the State Office located in Boise, ID. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for DEQ employees and visitors. If you have a blend of receptionist, facilities, and security experience, we encourage you to apply.
Salary Range: $18.37-20.21
Responsibilities:
· Answer the main agency telephone, determining the nature of the call and route appropriately. Provide general information to employees and guests.
· Greet and assist visitors to the State Office building, determining the purpose of their visit and directing them to their proper destination or contacting the appropriate DEQ employee to assist them.
· Ensure visitors have proper identification visible and they do not enter any restricted areas unaccompanied.
· Issue necessary paperwork for state identification cards and ensure accuracy of information, photograph employees and issue DEQ ID cards to staff to include janitorial crews.
· Ensure buildings and vehicles are locked down and secure each evening. Work with the Safety Coordinator to update evacuation and other emergency plans and coordinate fire drills.
· Monitor and report any security concerns related to building access.
Building maintenance and repairs:
· Maintain the office building, asset inventory, and agency vehicle fleet, including inspections, services, repairs, maintaining schedules, purchasing, registering, surplusing, disposing, and assisting employees and regional offices with the asset inventory and vehicle fleet.

• Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2-4 hours at a time.
• Ability to bend and reach for filing purposes.
• Some periods of heavy reading and typing are required.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds when working with file boxes.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to climb ladders, staircases, work on uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over rough terrain.
