The Southwest Idaho Treatment Center (SWITC) has an opening for a full-time RN Senior in Nampa with partial focus on Infection Prevention and Control Nurse. This position is an essential part of our RN Senior leadership team and will provide direct supervision support for the Infection Control Department. This role will have a set schedule, but SWITC is a 24-hour facility which when necessary to maintain operational continuity, does require some coverage on holidays, weekends, and/or normal days off.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

• Monitoring and analyzing data: Tracking infection rates, identifying trends, and assessing risks. 
• Implementing and developing policies: Creating or reviewing protocols and procedures that comply with our facility licensure and prevent and manage infections. 
• Education and training: Educating staff and clients on infection control measures. 
• Surveillance and reporting: Keeping records ensuring adherence to infection control standards including audits of infections and reporting them to relevant authorities. 
• Outbreak management: Responding to outbreaks and implementing containment strategies. 
• Environmental hygiene: Maintaining a clean and safe environment. 
• Research and best practices: Staying updated on the latest research and best practices in infection control. 
• Collaboration: Working with various internal and external departments to implement and improve infection control measures. 
• Quality Improvement: Continuously improving infection prevention and control processes. 
• Serves as administrative supervisory charge nurse for facility including covering the direct care role and on-call as needed year-round.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.

• Licensed as a Professional or Registered Nurse in Idaho as defined by Idaho Code 54-1408 or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418.For licensure information, please contact the Idaho Board of Nursing at http://ibn.idaho.gov or call (208) 577-2476.
• Experience performing nursing assessments and developing and implementing nursing care plans. Typically gained by at least six months work experience.
