The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) is seeking a proactive, initiative-taking Financial Technician to join our Administration Bureau’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the agency’s accounts payable, travel and PCard administration. The position is stationed at our Headquarters office which is situated adjacent to the Boise Greenbelt, the MK Nature Center, and Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park in Boise.

What We Offer: 

Responsibilities:

  • Process and record vendor invoices and payments through the Statewide Accounting System
  • Reconcile agency wide P-Card transactions
  • Review and process agency wide employee travel reimbursements
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Research a wide variety of financial transactions and statements to provide resolution to stakeholders
  • Manage, distribute, and organize Accounts Payable communication channels such as physical mail and email inbox

Minimum Qualifications: (These qualifications are required)

  • Some knowledge of financial record keeping. (Typically gained by successful completion of at least two college accounting courses OR successful completion of at least one college accounting course and at least six months of full-time, paid work experience where the primary duties involved accounting/bookkeeping. OR at least one year of full-time, paid work experience where the primary duties involved accounting/bookkeeping. Please note paying bills, collecting money, purchasing items, or maintaining a rotary fund is not qualifying.)
  • Experience using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data (Typically gained by successful completion of at least two computer courses on electronic spreadsheets/accounting software OR at least one year of using spreadsheets/accounting software.)
  •  Experience researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports (Typically gained by at least one year of experience using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.)

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about financial record keeping methods and have experience in Statewide Accounting System Applications. Additional consideration may be given at the time of interview to candidates who are critical thinkers and problem solvers with strong organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access, and have experience using personal computers to enter, retrieve and edit financial data.
