State Hospital South (SHS) Patient Treatment Facility (PTF) in Blackfoot is seeking a Registered Nurse, Senior who is caring, loving, and has a passion for helping others. SHS is in beautiful Southeast Idaho, an area best known for Oregon Trail and Native American history, amazing fly fishing, towering mountain peaks with abundant wildlife, and awe-inspiring geological sites. SHS PTF is a 110-bed psychiatric facility that provides adult mental health services. It maintains a statewide program to restore the competency of criminal justice patients. Our mission statement is to provide all persons who have a serious mental illness, including co-occurring disorders, a safe and healthy environment for growth, recovery, and inclusion in their community.

This announcement may be used to fill full-time, part-time, and temporary positions. Temporary positions are limited to working 1,385 hours in a 12-month period for any one state agency. Employees are eligible for benefits if they work twenty (20) hours or more per week and the term of employment is expected to exceed five (5) continuous months.

This position is not eligible for telework.

 EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

• Performs lead professional nursing within a specialized program with responsibility for staff or program oversight.
• Nursing areas of specialty include psychosocial rehabilitation, chemical dependency, home health, public health, Medicaid review, staff development, and facility administrative charge.
• Planning, conducting, and organizing public/community health programs.
• Coordinating and maintaining liaison with other health agencies.
• Monitoring of staffing and scheduling throughout the facility.
• Providing and overseeing home health service delivery.
• Conducting on-site Medicaid reviews.
• Providing psychosocial rehabilitation nursing and case management service to mental health program clients.
• Serving as administrative charge nurse for an entire facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.

• Licensed as a Professional or Registered Nurse in Idaho as defined by Idaho Code 54-1408 or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418. • Experience performing nursing assessments and developing and implementing nursing care plans. Typically gained by at least six months work experience.
