Purpose

To attract and retain engineering students at ITD. This program offers undergraduate/graduate students interested in civil engineering the opportunity to gain work experience, develop professional competence and long-range career goals, integrate work experiences with academic knowledge, and establish a professional network.

Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled and studying in engineering fields, preferably civil engineering.
  • Students must be accepted into the engineering program at an Idaho college or university.
  • Students must attend school full-time.

Stipend

Annual Stipend: $5,250.00

Stipends will be paid bi-annually after the academic semester is completed.

Salary

The Idaho Transportation Department Transportation will provide employment at the following rate to students as long as they make reasonable progress in their academic work and meet performance requirements.

Hourly: Starting at $23.33

Employment and Work Locations

Work Assignments

In an on-the-job training capacity, work assignments could include performing entry- and intermediate-level work, including, but not limited to, inspection, testing, surveying, design plans, and project administration for the road, bridge, and facilities programs.

Locations

This is a statewide program. Work location will be considered based on the location preference provided on the application Please include a resume and indicate your desired location when submitting your application
