About the Agency: The Idaho Division of Career Technical Education (IDCTE) provides leadership, administration, and coordination for programs in secondary and post secondary career technical education (CTE) and adult education across the state of Idaho. With a customer-service focus, the Division leads Idaho’s efforts to prepare youth and adults for high-skill, in-demand careers.

Location: We will hire three Regional Teacher Educators, one for each of the following Educational areas: Regions 1 and 2 (North Idaho), Regions 3 and 4 (West and Southern Idaho), Regions 5 and 6 (East and Central Idaho). The ideal candidate will live and work in the respective regions. This position is located in East and Central Idaho.

Position Overview: IDCTE is seeking three dynamic and experienced professionals to join our team as regional Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Educators. In this role, you will provide mentorship, professional development and guidance to CTE teachers, helping them enhance instructional practices and pedagogy to improve student outcomes within the CTE domain. As a CTE Teacher Educator, you will play a vital part in preparing and empowering CTE educators (secondary and postsecondary) to deliver high-quality education and prepare students for success in their chosen career paths. The Educator Services Team will be working, in partnership with stakeholders, on the creation and development of in-house delivered new teacher training modules to meet the requirements of transitioning new educators from a limited occupational specialist certificate to a renewable standard occupational specialist certificate. Some travel is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Educational Leadership:

  • Serve as a mentor to CTE instructional staff and administrators within designated regions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to instructional staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational programs meeting industry standards.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the Division.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, labor market demands, and emerging technologies to drive program development and curriculum design.

Curriculum Development and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with instructional staff, industry professionals, and community partners to create and update CTE educator curricula and modules, emphasizing relevance, rigor, and alignment with industry needs.
  • Partner on the implementation of CTE educator curricula, ensuring effective instructional practices, assessment methods, and student engagement.
  • Monitor and assess program effectiveness, leveraging data to enhance student outcomes continuously.

Partnership Development:

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with industry partners, local businesses, community organizations, and postsecondary institutions to enrich CTE program offerings and provide students with valuable work-based learning experiences.

Educator Development and Support:

  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment, promoting collaboration, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for instructors, deliver constructive feedback, and implement strategies to bolster CTE instructor development and retention.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience teaching CTE programs, or equivalent experience.
  • Hold a CTE Administrator Certificate, or the ability to attain one.
  • Strong knowledge of CTE program development, curriculum design, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with industry professionals, community organizations, and educational institutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education, career technical education, or a related field.
  • Experience serving as a mentor in an educational environment.
  • Familiarity with labor market trends, emerging technologies, and evolving workforce needs.
  • Experience in staff management, professional development, and performance evaluation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for career readiness and preparing students for successful futures.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching new teachers or CTE educators
