The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections is seeking applications for Program Specialist position located downtown Boise at our Headquarters building. The Program Specialist will work in partnership with units of local government, tribes, and private providers serving juvenile offenders and their families by monitoring compliance and coordinating activities to address violations of the Act. Interpersonal communication skills are critical for this position.
The Program Specialist will also be responsible for monitoring other juvenile justice agencies in Idaho to assess their compliance with applicable state rules and standards. Duties may involve working inside a juvenile detention or correction facility.
The position involves preparing reports for a variety of audiences including local, state, and federal officials and agencies. Some in-state and out-of-state travel is required, with some being overnight stays. The Program Specialist works under the supervision of the Compliance Monitor and is staff support to the Idaho Juvenile Justice Commission and relevant committees. The Commission establishes priorities and allocates grant funding to support activities.
