Do you want to make a difference and be part of an award-winning agency, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Idaho through transportation? At the Idaho Transportation Department, every employee is critical to the mission and we strive to foster an innovative, collaborative workplace where employees can grow and do their best work. Idaho Transportation Department has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an IT Operations and Support Analyst III located at our Chinden Headquarters Office in Boise, Idaho. The purpose of this position is to assess infrastructure operations and identify adjustments aimed to improve performance and perform related work.

Example of Duties

  • Develops highly sophisticated technology plans that require the integration of multiple technologies, and the interrelationships of multiple systems serving diverse customers.
  • Assesses the most complex systems and models, which involves large, interdependent systems, new technologies, and broad implications for the IT architecture.
  • Solves technical problems that may have never been encountered previously in the organization.
  • Provides recommendations for investment in new products and technology solutions, supported by appropriate ROI, total cost of ownership, and/or cost benefit analyses.

Minimum Qualifications: **You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Considerable knowledge:

  • Computer trends, software, capabilities, and terminology - Typically met by an applicable four-year degree or advanced IT certifications OR at least three years of work experience in a lead role where supporting computer systems, software and IT services was a predominant duty of the job.
  • Computer hardware and software installation and troubleshooting - Typically met by an applicable four-year degree or advanced IT certifications OR at least three years of work experience in a lead role where installing and troubleshooting computer hardware and software was a predominant duty of the job.

Experience:

  • Providing technical leadership on teams supporting large infrastructure projects and operational environments - Typically met by at least three years of work experience providing technical leadership on teams supporting large infrastructure projects and operational environments.
  • Evaluating and advising organizations on advanced technical solutions and operational processes - Typically met by at least three years of work experience evaluating and advising organizations on advanced technical solutions and operational processes.
  • Performing cost/benefit analysis and analyzing alternatives - Typically met by at least three years of work experience performing cost/benefit analysis and analyzing alternatives.
  • Assisting with IT strategic planning - Typically met by at least three years of work experience assisting with IT strategic planning.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with internal and external partners to provide guidance, direction and support in utilization of both existing and new technologies; 
  • Assisting and providing input regarding building technology standards; 
  • Assisting with guiding new and existing technologies through implementation and maintaining adherence to existing technology standards.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow as a helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Experience working with WorkspaceOne as a Remote management toolset.
