Description:

ISP is seeking applicants to fill an Office Services Supervisor 1 in District 1 Patrol. This position currently supervises three support staff. The incumbent plans, coordinates, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the District 1 administrative office. They are expected to perform a wide variety of secretarial and/or office administration support functions and related work.

PLEASE NOTE: The successful applicant will be required to complete a background investigation and polygraph examination. Please review the ISP Drug Policy and ISP Grooming and Appearance Standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, supervise, and train three direct reports assigned to ISP District 1 
  • Evaluate performance of supervised staff to include annual goals
  • Coordinate and supervise the administrative functions for ISP District 1 including delegation of workloads, ensuring accuracy of records, processing financial transactions, and updating policies and procedures
  • Provide office support functions for district command staff to include making travel arrangements, organizing and attending meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes
  • Coordinate abandoned vehicle program to include required reporting
  • Coordinate purchasing of goods and services for ISP District 1
  • Interpret, apply, and explain ISP regulations and policies to internal and external customers
  • Ensure security and accuracy of financial transactions
  • Coordinate, compile, and submit reports as required by district command staff
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of written materials to include forms, policies, plans, permits, and newsletters
  • Research and complete public record requests
  • Coordinate, collaborate, and problem solve with internal and external customers regarding the program focus of ISP District 1
  • Provide backup clerical and administrative support to other division programs as necessary


Minimum Qualifications: 

Good knowledge of: 

  • Office support functions

Some knowledge of: 

  • Supervisory practices

Experience: 

  • Interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services 
  • Independently solving problems/performing liaison activities to deal with individuals or resolve conflicts in a work setting
