Would you like to make a difference in the lives of people as well as the community in which you work? State Hospital South (SHS) located in Blackfoot is seeking a Clinician to join our amazing Treatment Team. We provide psychiatric inpatient treatment and skilled nursing care for Idaho's adult citizens with the most serious and persistent mental illnesses. The hospital works in partnership with families and communities to enable clients to return to community living. SHS is a 110-bed Adult Psychiatric Treatment Hospital and this position will be working on a 30-bed unit within that facility. This position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with holidays off. Clinicians are part of the hospital Treatment Team providing evidence-based patient-centered care for adult patients who are committed to the Department of Health and Welfare for care and treatment. You will be working as part of a treatment team that includes a prescriber, other clinicians, nursing, pharmacy, medical, recreational therapy, and others.

The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test. In addition, successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Perform assessments, evaluations, observations, and interviews to identify strengths and needs. 
  • Develop treatment plans, recommend services and interventions to the Treatment Team. 
  • Ongoing case management consultation with members of the Treatment Team, Regional staff, and families involved with the patient to gather data relevant to assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. 
  • Perform assessments for patients at risk due to suicidal, homicidal, assaultive, or elopement behaviors and develop a structured intervention immediately to implement in the Treatment Plan. 
  • Document clinical observations and assessment data in the electronic medical records per hospital policy and procedure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum and specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum and specialty qualifications for this position.   •  A Master's Degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field is required for this position. (Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.) 

SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  A license in one of the following areas: Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
