The Idaho State Tax Commission is hiring temporary Revenue Process Clerks for the 2024 Tax Season! We offer a variety of shifts ranging from 30 to 40 hours a week with occasional Saturdays. As a Revenue Process Clerk, you will work on a temporary and seasonal basis in an office environment at the beautiful State of Idaho Chinden Campus! You will be supported by a great team with flexible hours available. If you are motivated, dependable, detail oriented, and 16 years of age or older, we encourage you to apply! This is a great opportunity to learn clerical tax administration and gain government experience. These positions do not include benefits. Responsibilities:

We will evaluate and place individuals in the positions which best fit their skills and experience and provide the training needed for success. Temporary seasonal staff may be assigned to one or more of the following roles: 

Mail Opener: Open, assemble, date stamp, identify and code tax documents for processing per written procedures. 

Imaging Clerk: Operate high-speed mail and imaging equipment. Includes some data entry functions. 

Data Specialist: Perform data entry functions ensuring accuracy and compliance with written procedures. 

Taxpayer Registration: Update database entries based on taxpayer provided information. 

Taxpayer Accounting: Identify and correct errors on income tax returns per written procedures. 

Permit Processing: Identify and correct errors on permit tax returns per written procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of full-time work experience that included monitoring records systems, identifying problems and correcting errors. 
  • At least 1 year of full-time work experience that includes researching a variety of sources to solve problems. 
  • At least 1 year of full-time work experience Interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, and/or program knowledge to carry out assignments. 
  • At least 1 year of full-time work experience that included entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system.
