Information Technology Services (ITS) is an agency of dedicated professionals providing core technology and cybersecurity services to statewide agencies, enabling state employees to better serve Idaho's citizens. Information Technology Services (ITS) currently has an opening for a Geospatial Information System (GIS) Analyst III position in our Chinden office in Boise.
This position will report to Idaho’s Geographic Information Officer (GIO)/ Chief Data Officer (CDO) and support a variety of efforts underway furthering the vision of The Idaho Map, improve data sharing quality, data sharing as well as promote practical data- and GIS projects for over 30 different State Agencies. Some projects on the horizon are Indoor Mapping, bringing more data into the Idaho Map, working on strengthening collaborations with other agencies and partners to find efficiencies and improve, improve workflows as well as interoperability between different datasets.
We are looking for an individual that is excited about the potential of GIS technology to have a positive impact on our state, is curious and open to learning new things, resourceful to find solutions, with a can-do spirit to get things done, and keep us moving forward. Additionally, we are looking for a team member who enjoys sharing their skills and knowledge with others but also knows their limitations and seeks out team members when they need help.
The selected individual must be able to plan, design, conduct, and oversee Geographic Information System (GIS) development and analysis projects; serve as technical lead and/or subject matter expert in GIS technology and applications; perform related work. Work under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
Please note: The successful candidates will be required to pass multiple, comprehensive fingerprint-based background checks specific to the agencies ITS supports.
