The mission of the Idaho Industrial Commission is to fairly administer the Idaho Workers' Compensation Law. The Idaho Industrial Commission has an opening for a full-time Referee.
Special Notification: This position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.
Responsibilities: The Idaho Industrial Commission is seeking an attorney to become a Referee in workers’ compensation proceedings. The Industrial Commission has original jurisdiction in workers' compensation litigation and appellate jurisdiction in unemployment insurance proceedings. As hearing officers, Referees hear cases relating to workers’ compensation disputes, unemployment insurance and Crime Victims Compensation Program appeals, and write decisions for review by the Commission. Referees may also participate in the Alternate Dispute Resolution (Mediation) process. They may also conduct virtual or in person hearings. This is a full-time (40 hours, M-F), on-site position.
