Summary:

The Idaho Department of Correction currently has an opening for Clinical Supervisor. This position will supervise clinicians in each of the 7 Probation & Parole districts. Clinical Supervisors provide clinical oversight related to the design, development, implementation, and ongoing delivery of clinical services within the facilities. The incumbent will work with both institutions and community corrections to standardize and improve core program delivery of clinical services.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervises a professional level clinical staff in preforming assessment treatment, programing and case management duties
2. Hires staff, schedules workload, assigns priorities, and evaluates performance
3. Provides technical expertise and advise to management
4. Provides program design and direction
5. Organizes and participates with groups to develop support and service partnerships and expand community reentry options in the districts
6. Develop a cooperative Reentry process to ensure medical and mental health needs met for those individuals releasing into our communities

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.
2. Some knowledge of supervisory practices. Typically gained by at least one year of experience as a an lead worker or supervisor that involved work assignment, direction, and monitoring of staff; OR one year experience as a Field Training Officer (FTO) that involved work assignment, direction and monitoring performance of at least four new hires within the last five years.
3. Some knowledge of community organization/development principles and processes. Typically gained by completion of a Community Organization/Development course or workshops equivalent to three semester hours of college credit OR 40 classroom hours of specific training OR I have held a direct services role in case management or psychosocial or rehabilitation therapy or counseling and applied these principles in a community development role.
4. Experience providing treatment services in correctional, institutional, clinical and/or community-based treatment settings. Typically this is gained by at least two years' post-Master's degree experience providing direct clinical services. Direct clinical services may include: conducting assessments, crisis interventions, case management treatment planning, therapy, follow-up, report writing, etc., for clients in a community or institutional-based setting, project, or program.
5. Experience providing in-service skills training to professional staff. Typically, this is met by experience as a lead worker, team leader, or supervisor or manager role for small staff involving homogeneous disciplines where the in-service skills training for an individual or a group was developed and conducted.

Specialty Qualification: 

1. Possession of a current Idaho license in respective field or license eligibility within 90 days of hire

1. Possession of or eligibility for supervisory endorsement/certification form their respective licensing board
2. Preferred candidates will have two (2) years of experience providing clinical oversight of staff and treatment programs
3. Prior experience involving quality assurance and/or auditing service delivery systems
