This position is the first step in the Transportation Operations Team Leader (TOTL) horizontal career path series. The TOTL HCP starts at the Transportation Technician Principal, Maintenance (TTPM) classification. This is a challenging career opportunity as a working foreman who will focus on supervising staff, coordinating Bridge and Building Maintenance, and assisting with snow removal. The successful candidate will be proactive, safety focused, have excellent communication and computer skills, and will be a constructive team leader. They will also be able to balance working alongside the crew and completing supervisory responsibilities. Employees in the Transportation Operations Team Leader (TOTL) horizontal career path must complete the following two steps within four years. In order to pass the steps, you must meet key performance indicators, demonstrate essential skills and maintain worker safety.
This position requires that you obtain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 60 days of hire as well as pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. ITD will provide training to meet the Entry Level Driver Training requirements as well as licensing costs.After successful completion of each step, wages may increase as outlined below:

Incumbents are required to work in all weather conditions, under hazardous conditions, on obstructed roads and congested highways, in considerable noise, around operating equipment, and with hazardous materials. Frequent travel to and from work site with some overnight stay is required. Some positions require maintaining a residence within 30 minutes from their workstation.
