ITD currently has an opening for a Right-of-Way Apprentice. This position is located at the Headquarters office in Boise, Idaho. The Right-of-Way Section is responsible for the acquisition of all property required for highway construction, material sources, and maintenance shed sites. The section is also responsible for the oversight of all Local Public Agencies acquiring property, who utilize federal funding for highway purposes. The acquisition of Right-of-Way follows the planning and design phases of the highway development process and is one of the final phases prior to the actual award of the construction contract. This position will perform entry-level Right-of-Way activities under general supervision.
The Right-of-Way Apprentice position will be used for training purposes for the Right-of-Way Agent position. Through various types of on-the-job training, the employee will learn to carry out the duties of the full working level Right-of-Way Agent. Once employee has successfully met the requirements of the Right-of-Way Apprentice, they will advance to the Right-of-Way Appraiser classification.
