The Compliance Support Section is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Records Specialist 2. This job requires basic computer skills, organizational skills, as well as assist both internal and external customers.

Summary:

Provides technical support for Compliance section as well as other departments within Idaho State Tax Commission. Must be able to resolve difficult situations; uses expertise in the implementation and maintenance of technical program guidelines; perform related work as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret, explain, and apply regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
  • Use of judgment in determining an appropriate course of action
  • Work with external customers on setting up Temporary Seller’s Permits, processing Temporary Seller’s Permit e-mails, technical mail and responses
  • Post payments to accounts, monitor and post payments to Property Tax Reduction accounts, post payments and returns on Temporary Sellers Permits. Notate accounts accordingly
  • Research, review and process liens for external customers. Work with financial institutions and title/escrow companies
  • Develop, communicate, and implement plans, policies and procedures which effectively use available resources
  • Enter and retrieve data using a computerized record system

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors 
  • Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs
  • Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues 
  • Dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations 
  • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system
  • Composing and proofreading business correspondence
