Summary:

The Mission of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime.

Clinicians with the Idaho Department of Correction work inside correctional institutions/prisons and Probation & Parole District Offices around the state. These positions perform assessments, program assignments, and treatment referrals for residents convicted of a felony. This announcement will be used for the South Boise Complex to include Idaho State Correctional Center (ISCC), Idaho State Correctional Institution (ISCI), South Boise Women's Correctional Center (SBWCC), South Idaho Correctional Institution (SICI) including the Pre-Release Center, and Idaho Maximum Security Institution (IMSI), in Boise Idaho

Responsibilities:

1. Applies clinical skills to assess client/family needs; formulates assessment and therapeutic recommendations
2. Prepares findings, diagnostic impressions, diagnosis, and recommendations.
3. May select, score, administer, and interpret psychological tests.
4. Therapy/rehabilitation. Typical responsibilities: designs, implements, and directs multifaceted clinical therapies and rehabilitation programs. 
5. Provides clinical case management services.
6. Evaluates treatment effectiveness and client/family outcomes; provides emergency, crisis intervention, and after hours on-call services.
7. May supervise other staff. 
8. Advocates for client and family. 
9. Presents assessment results to multidisciplinary team; participates in treatment planning. 
10. Provides forensic services.
11. Designs and implements training.
12. Coordinates program with other service providers and community organizations.
13. Provides client, family, and community education services. 
14. May serve as designated examiner and dispositioner. 
15. May participate in research projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A master's degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field is required for this position. (Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.) 
2. Willing to work in a correctional facility and may include working non-traditional hours during evenings and or weekends.

Specialty Qualifications:

1. Must possess a current Idaho license as a Licensed Master's Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or be eligible within 90 days from the date of hire.
