The  Department of Health and Welfare is looking for a Nurse, Registered Sr. for the Bureau of Long Term Care (BLTC) in Coeur d'Alene. The Coeur d' Alene office of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse, Registered Sr. with the Bureau of Long Term Care in the Division of Medicaid. We are seeking an individual who is driven to make an impact to our participant’s lives. The Nurse, Registered Senior position is responsible for completing in home assessments with participants with a focus on remaining in their home environment. This position ensures quality management standards are completed. Additional responsibilities include working closely with health care providers, consultation, and liaison with the community.

This position is Monday through Friday and does not require work on weekends, holiday’s, or on-call shifts.

Example of Duties Performs professional nursing that may include: 

  • Patient assessment 
  • Scheduling medical clinic appointments 
  • Care plan development 
  • Health education (including employee health and infection control) 
  • Clinical activities 
  • Case management 
  • Direct nursing services (including treatments) 
  • Medical equipment monitoring

This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Ensure compliance with outcome-oriented regulations, which requires surveyors to select a sample of the client base. 
  • Assess each client's health, social, emotional, rehabilitative, and habilitative care needs.
  • Observe facility staff and others providing services to clients. 
  • Conduct interviews and record reviews to ensure sufficient information is gathered on which to base compliance decisions. 
  • Use critical thinking skills and professional judgment to determine if the facility is meeting clients' needs in accordance with the stated regulations and health care standards. 
  • Write reports that are clear, concise and legally defensible. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.

  • Licensed as a Professional or Registered Nurse in Idaho as defined by Idaho Code 54-1408 or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418.   • Experience performing nursing assessments and developing and implementing nursing care plans. Typically gained by at least six months work experience.
