Summary:
The mission of the Idaho Department of Correction is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections and restore victims of crime. Probation and Parole Officer, Seniors employ a balance of principles related to counseling, case management, and law enforcement to ensure the safety of our communities and individuals who are under the supervision of adult felony probation or parole. Trained in the principles of evidence-based practices, Probation and Parole Officers build rapport with clients and utilize community resources to assist clients in moving toward long-term behavioral change.
Responsibilities:
Physical readiness test:
Applicants MUST be able to complete the following physical tests AT THE TIME OF THE INTERVIEW. If you are unable to meet these physical requirements, please wait to apply until you can do the following:
14-inch vertical jump
15 sit-ups (correct form) in 1 minute
21 push-ups (correct form, knee position not allowed)
300-meter run in 1 minute & 17 seconds (approximately 3/4 of a lap around a standard track)
1.5 mile run/walk in 17 minutes & 17 seconds
