Position Description: This is a full-time, on-site, benefitted limited-service appointment (funding available through December 2026) with the potential to become permanent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to return to the workforce or a recent college graduate with a Computer Science or related degree who desires some real work experience.
The candidate will work with our Application Development team in developing and maintaining custom software. Including extending the functionality of our Java/J2EE/Oracle desktop application and supporting web applications utilizing various frameworks. Coordinate with team members to design new software solutions that work with existing systems.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test and document application code.
• Identify and resolve problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Refactor legacy programming code into current standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience; Experience in Object Oriented application development with Java; Spring and SpringBoot frameworks; Knowledge of SOLID principles and Domain Driven Design; Experience in Test Driven Development; Fundamental web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript; Version control with Git Extensions, GitLab;
Desirable Experience: Web development with technologies such as WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, React; Experience writing C++ applications, specifically utilizing the Win32 API; Linux System Administration with server technologies similar to Apache Tomcat and Oracle WebLogic. Oracle Database 19c and experience working with XML Schema, DTD, XPath and XSLT; Familiarity with using and managing Docker Containers.
