About the Agency: The Idaho State Board of Education (Board) is established in the Idaho Constitution for the “general supervision of the state educational institutions and public school system.” State law charges the Board with the general supervision, governance and control of public schools and postsecondary institutions, including community colleges. The Board is comprised of eight members: seven appointed by the Governor, as well as the statewide elected superintendent of public instruction. The Office of the State Board of Education (OSBE) is charged with providing professional staff support to the Board and implementing the Board’s policies, programs, and initiatives.
Summary: This position will be located at Idaho State University (ISU) and will work collaboratively with their risk management team. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and quantify risks and empower risk-reward decision making to protect our students, faculty, and staff. The incumbent will need to effectively utilize resources and assets to achieve the strategic goals of the Board and higher education institutions in Idaho while enhancing the quality of risk management services.
A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate future oriented critical thinking skills to effectively promote strategic, proactive, and risk-reward decision making and communication. They will need to manage risk management services for their campus and support standardization of services across campuses by identifying and analyzing key risks.
