This position will require a medical surveillance baseline exam.

Position:

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hiring an INL MONITORING ANALYST 3 for the Idaho Falls Regional Office.

Salary Range: $29.75-$33.71

Responsibilities:

· Provide database support for environmental monitoring and surveillance data collection activities.

· Create reports in Python, analyzing and compiling data.

· Work with hydrogeologists and health physicists to gather information relative to the output format desired for each reporting category.

· Share and disseminate information to the general public and other agencies.

· Conduct field checks, maintenance, repairs, and calibrations of EcoGamma-g equipment on and near the Idaho National Laboratory site.

· Act as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration liaison for meteorological data collection. This includes populating, formatting, modeling, and analyzing plume dispersion information from the dose assessment Radiological Assessment System for Consequence Analysis software program.

· Support other program staff with water and terrestrial monitoring, sample collection, transportation, and outreach functions.

· Provide general technical support for the office.

Minimum Qualifications:

Possession of a bachelor's degree in the physical or biological sciences, political science, business or public administration, engineering, or related natural resources management field OR any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a typical four (4) year bachelor's degree. For example: Successful completion of sixty (60) semester hours of study, including twenty four (24) semester hours in a subject required for the specific discipline, is equivalent to two (2) years of undergraduate education; and/or experience performing routine duties in completing multiple tasks such as policy research, data collection, interpretation, analysis and preparation of reports and written documents for at least two (2) years can substitute for one (1) year of college. 

AND

At least four (4) years' experience managing and implementing, projects or component(s) of programs that are environmental, regulatory, or administrative in nature, where you were required to routinely perform program or project planning; provide technical assistance to staff, special interest groups and the public; and provide policy and/or regulatory interpretation and/or development.

OR

Possession of a master's degree in any of the above fields AND at least two (2) years' professional experience managing and implementing, or overseeing projects or component(s) of programs that are environmental in nature, where you were required to routinely perform program or project planning; provide technical assistance to staff, special interest groups and the public; and provide policy and/or regulatory interpretation and/or development.

Required Specialty Minimum Qualification

DEQ 5705 Data Management – Must have at least one year of experience performing data management activities such as database development and/or maintenance; data collection, analysis, research, and tracking; and developing tables, queries, forms, and reports.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2-4 hours at a time.

• Ability to bend and reach for filing purposes.

• Some periods of heavy reading and typing are required.

• Ability to lift 30 pounds when working with file boxes.

• Some travel may be required.

• Ability to climb ladders, staircases, work on uneven terrain.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds over rough terrain.

• Ability to work in adverse or inclement weather.

• Ability to work in extreme hot or cold temperatures both outside and inside.

• Ability to work on elevated instrument platforms, ladders, etc.

• Occasional travel required.

• May come into contact with hazardous waste/materials.

• Required to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" Clearance, including successfully passing a drug screening test and subject to random drug screening tests.
