The Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) has an exciting opportunity for a professional who wants to impact Idaho water issues.

 IDWR is filling a vacancy for a Technical Records Specialist 1 in our State office in Boise. The person in this position will perform clerical, administrative, and records support tasks for adjudication staff primarily related to the Bear River Basin Adjudication (BRBA). This candidate will maintain and manage files and records within the adjudication program, review and process documents, perform data entry, compose correspondence, and receipt payments.

 This position will also support adjudication staff in the regional offices, so the successful candidate will have opportunities to develop experience with water right issues throughout the state.

Example of Duties

· Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and written correspondence regarding the adjudication, water rights, and general IDWR program information.

· Data enter water right and adjudication documents, verify for accuracy and completeness, and assist customers with form submissions.

· File legal documents with the court, Department of Justice, and Attorney General.

· Process and mail documents, maintain archive files, scan and stamp documents.

· Maintain and manage documents and records related to the adjudication process.

· Conduct comprehensive research using information from various sources, and engage with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.

  • Perform specialized support work involving extensive in-depth knowledge of the adjudication program.
  • Perform general office and clerical support services for adjudication staff.
  • Act as liaison between the State office, other IDWR work units, and external customers.
  • Edit and maintain physical and digital records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors
  • Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems
  • Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying rules, regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments 
  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system

Additional Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver's license
