The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking a Program Specialist Technician to join their team at ITD HQ, located in Boise, Idaho. This position will provide technical expertise for the Traffic Services, Sign and Signal Supply Program. This position will be responsible for consulting with service providers and highway personnel on specific program issues and cases to enhance program implementation and service outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Program Knowledge

• Serve as technical program expert to respond to questions or find resolutions to problems that are outs the normal application
• Perform statewide MMU testing
• Perform statewide signal cabinet testing
• Support signal cabinet and MMU information for QPL reviews
• Perform digital printing/plotting on sheet/extruded aluminum and plywood

Communication and Training

• Maintain shop equipment
• Train and assist sign fabricators with shop inventory management
• Shipping and Receiving materials, signs, and signal cabinets
• Provide training to department employees
• Train new sign fabricators

Experience:

• Determining program compliance with state or federal laws
• Preparing and presenting detailed information to groups of people
• Translating technical material into easily understandable oral and written communication
