ITD has an opening for an Engineer Manager I for District 6, Design/Construction team location in Rigby, ID. This position will plan, organize, and review the performance of professional and/or technical staff performing road inspection and engineering work; perform professional engineering and related administrative work involving the research, design, construction, and related activities to the project inspection and engineering discipline; perform related work.

Example of Duties 

  • Interviews and hires staff, assigns work, and evaluates performance
  • Conducts professional engineering work involving conventional practices, but may also involve a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult project coordination requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure: 

  • Licensed in Idaho as a Professional Engineer (PE); or be eligible for comity licensure by the Idaho Board of Professional Engineers in accordance with Idaho Code, Title 54, Chapter 12; 
  • AND Valid driver's license. 

Good knowledge of:

  • State and local government operations pertaining to a specific engineering discipline.
  • Management practices.

Experience: 

  • Supervising staff
  • Interpreting and applying federal, state, and local laws pertaining to a specific engineering discipline
  • Evaluating engineering projects and making decisions relative to their merit
  • Writing engineering reports and correspondence
  • Reviewing and critiquing engineering analyses
  • Making oral presentations to groups relative to the merits of engineering applications
  • Experience scoping, scheduling, and budgeting projects
