The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 in the in the Directors Office in Boise.


Example of Duties:

· Answer ISDA main office phones and greet visitors at front desk.

· Maintain office supplies, equipment inventories, and codes invoices for payment as needed.

· Update and distribute phone lists and directories.

· Maintain accounting system including postal charge records; requests advance postage checks and applies to postage meters.

· Sorts, delivers, and picks up mail to and from post office and interdepartmental sites.

· Processes, weighs, and meters all classes of mail using metering equipment and scales; checks metering and processing, processes bulk mail and First Class Presort per U.S. postal rules and regulations; determines appropriate class and account codes.

· Proof professional documents, letters, agreements, etc. for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and consistency with ISDA policies.

· Develop a variety of internal and external communications including letters, memos, emails, and reports.

· Assist Public Information Officer with creating Social Media content, maintaining the agency’s website, and formatting newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

· Maintain Director’s Office filing system.

· Assist and coordinate internal events.

    · Manage other special projects and duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    These qualifications are mandatory requirements.
    Good knowledge of:

    · Office support functions including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business documents and reception;

    · Researching, compiling, and summarizing data for reports.

    Experience:

    · interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services;

    · independently solving problems/performing liaison activities in a work setting;

    · coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements.

    Specialty Areas: These qualifications are mandatory requirements for this recruitment.

    · Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

    Supplemental Information

    Desirable Area: This qualification is not required; however, if you have the related background, it may increase your score.

    · Experience with computerized records systems.

    Temporary appointments from this announcement, serving at least one thousand forty (1,040) hours of continuous service, may be hired as an entrance probationary employee without further examination for the same classification and location as announced.
