If this sounds like a good fit to you, the Child and Family Services program is accepting applications for a Clinical Supervisor for the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) team and Congregate Care Unit team.

General Information 

  • This position will supervise a statewide team of clinicians who administer assessments to foster youth placed in congregate care settings.
  • CANS Certification will be provided through the Division of Behavioral Health/Praed Foundation.
  • This position will also supervise a statewide team of clinicians who support matching of youth in appropriate congregate care facilities and clinical support to placements for children with complex needs.

We are seeking applicants with critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and developed interpersonal skills. Applicants should also excel at working independently and as part of a team.

This position may be located in any of the department's regional field offices and will be based on the selected candidate. Please list the office location you are interested in on your resume materials.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Hires staff, schedules workload, assigns priorities, and evaluates performance.
  • Provides technical expertise and recommendations to management.
  • Provides specialized clinical services.
  • Consults with and trains staff.
  • Coordinates program with other services.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and participates with groups to develop support and service partnerships for children and families.

MINIMUM AND SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum and specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.
  • Some knowledge of supervisory practices. Typically requires completion of a class or seminar (of more than 1 day) specifically covering supervisory practices or the elements of supervision OR completion of a college-level personnel-related course covering supervisory practices OR lead work experience that involved work assignment, direction and monitoring of staff.
  • Some knowledge of community organization/development principles and processes. Typically requires completion of community organization/development course or workshops equivalent to three semester hours of college credit or 40 classroom hours OR direct services role in case management or psychosocial or rehabilitative therapy or counseling and applying these principles in a community development role.
  • Experience providing social or treatment services in clinical and community-based treatment settings. Typically requires at least two years of experience, post-Master's degree, providing direct clinical services/practice conducting assessments, crisis interventions, case management, treatment plans, therapy, follow-up, evaluations, treatment, reports, etc., for clients in a community-based setting, project or program.
  • Experience providing in-service skills training to professional staff. Typically requires experience as a leadwork/team leader, or supervisory or managerial assignments where you developed and conducted in-service skills training for individual or groups. 

SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure in one of the following areas: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Counselor (LPC), Pastoral Counselor (LPAS), Clinical Practice Counselor (LCPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

  • Good knowledge of child welfare services. Typically gained by at least three years of experience in the provision of child welfare services.
