The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is currently recruiting an Archeologist (Senior Environmental Planner classification) to provide environmental support for transportation projects. Within ITD, all Cultural Resources work (archaeology, architectural history, and history) is conducted under the under the Environmental Services section alongside other Environmental Planners and encompassing other environmental disciplines. A knowledge of environmental concepts, principles, and planning is desired. However, experience in archeology is required. This position is located at ITD Headquarters in Boise, ID. The incumbent for this position will work as a member of a team of environmental and engineering professionals to deliver Federal-aid and State-aid, highway, bridge and other transportation construction projects (linear) in Idaho. This position will focus on completing the environmental processes required to deliver and construct statewide projects. This position requires working in a deadline driven environment, balancing multiple priorities, and engaging in complex problem solving while providing support to operational staff in environmental compliance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: **You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Considerable knowledge of:
1. At least one year of full-time professional experience or equivalent specialized training in archeological research, administration, or management; 2. At least four months of supervised field and analytic experience in general North American archeology, and 3. Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion.
